Tom Campbell
Senior Advisor, CNFA
Tom Campbell joined CNFA, Inc in 2006 armed with fine-tuned skills and expertise gleaned from more than 40 years at Dow Agrosciences in sales, marketing and government affairs. He started at Dow in 1965 in a field sales position servicing corn and soybean producers in Illinois and Missouri. In
following years he served in field assignments in the Midwest, Mid South, Southwest, and Hawaii and represented a diverse product portfolio sold into various fruit, vegetable, grain, and textile crops as well as non crop markets such as forestry and industrial vegetation management.
He then transitioned into a corporate North American Marketing Manager role, marketing existing and new products. From 1989 to 2005, he served as Dow AgroSciences Federal Government Affairs Manager in Washington, DC dealing with environmental, trade, and international market development issues. Tom holds a BS in Animal Husbandry from Kansas State University. As Senior Advisor, Tom brings a set of valuable tools, wide ranging and well-informed insights and an in-depth knowledge of the private agribusiness sector which supports CNFA’s “Empowering the Private Sector” approach to development activities around the world.
In 2006 Tom joined the VEGA Board on behalf of CNFA.
Nancy Overholt
Executive Director, Professional and Global Exchanges, IIE
Nancy Overholt is Executive Director of Professional and Global Exchanges at the Institute of International Education (IIE) where she supervises a portfolio of international education and training programs. Ms. Overholt has developed
projects for a variety of audiences and training environments, including U.S. government agencies, other countries’ ministries of education and ministries of foreign affairs as well as several foundations and corporate sponsors. Prior to joining IIE, she created and supervised innovative education and training programs for the following academic institutions: the University of Michigan; the University of California, Riverside; the University of Pennsylvania; and the University of California, Santa Barbara. Ms. Overholt has been the keynote speaker and given numerous presentations at international conferences on topics related to educational program design and delivery, and she has published articles focused on educational exchange in the US and abroad. Ms. Overholt was awarded an A.B. in French and History by Albion College and an A. M. in Romance Language and Linguistics from the University of Michigan. She is the recipient of a Fulbright Specialist Award and a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
Tom Miller
President & CEO, IESC
Tom Miller is currently the President/CEO of International Executive Service Corps, a non-profit that furnishes expertise to the developing world to train in best business practices. In 2009, Tom was President and CEO of the United
Nations Association of the U.S. From 2005-08, he served as CEO of Plan International, a large nongovernmental organization that works in 66 countries to improve the lives of children in developing countries.
A 29-year career diplomat, Tom's experience in the Foreign Service spanned many continents. From 2001-04, he served as U.S. ambassador to Greece, where he focused on the security concerns of the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens and domestic counter-terrorism. From 1999-2001, as U.S. Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, he worked on helping the country recover after a devastating war. From 1997-99, he was Special Coordinator for the Cyprus negotiations. He was also posted to Thailand as well as the State Department in Washington, where he focused on North Africa and the Middle East, including the Israeli-Palestinian Peace Process and counter-terrorism issues.
A native of the Chicago area, Tom has a Ph.D. in Political Science, two Masters degrees and a B.A., all from the University of Michigan.
John D. Pompay
Chief Financial & Operating Officer, FSVC
John D. Pompay is the Chief Financial & Operating Officer and Assistant Treasurer of the Board for the Financial Services Volunteer Corps (FSVC). John is also the President of the Pompay Group LLC, a consultancy that provides business solutions to those who engage it. John holds a MBA from Columbia Business School and a BS degree in finance from Siena College. He is a graduate of the General Electric Financial Management Program and an alumnus of the General Electric Audit Staff and the General Electric Six Sigma Quality Team.
